In this episode, I spoke with Chanel Kelly, widely known as the TrapCellist. Chanel is a Baltimore native, musician, producer, and arranger with over two decades of musical experience. Chanel’s unique approach blends classical cello techniques with contemporary genres like rock, heavy metal, and hip-hop. We discuss her journey from discovering cello as a child to exploring avant-garde techniques, her versatility as a musical chameleon, and her recent performance on Second Chance Stage on HBO Max.
